Our commitment
UNBOUND respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
UNBOUND is operated by Dominion Lux Holdings Limited, a private company, limited by shares, registered in England and Wales, registration number 16399171. The registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Dominion Lux Holdings Limited is the controller of the personal data described here.
UNBOUND and Celestial University
Dominion Lux Holdings Limited also operates Celestial University, and the two services share one sign-in system. If you have an account with either, we hold one account record for you (your name, email address and sign-in details), and that record is used by both.
What you do on UNBOUND stays with UNBOUND. Signing up for UNBOUND does not add you to Celestial University's emails or programmes, and an UNBOUND membership grants nothing at Celestial University.
UNBOUND is paid for through our Shopify store, which also sells Rev Benton Experience products. Buying an UNBOUND membership makes you a customer of that store; you receive its marketing only if you ask for it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form), and your confirmation that you are 18 or over.
- Membership information: your plan, its status, the date your membership is paid through, and the customer and order references our Shopify store gives us.
- Billing information: your name, email address and billing address as you enter them at checkout, and your order and subscription history, held in our Shopify store. Card details are handled by Shopify and its payment partners; we never receive or store your full card details.
- Viewing activity: the films you start, where you stopped (so you can resume), how far through a film you have watched, your My List, and any interest you register in future programmes.
- Usage information: the pages you visit and actions you take on UNBOUND, such as starting a film or a membership, and the link or website you arrived from, including any campaign tags in that link. This is recorded on our servers; it is not stored on your device.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information in the logs needed to operate, secure and stream the service.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact us.
How we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing your account and membership, streaming films, and remembering where you left off | Performing our contract with you |
| Taking payment through Shopify and managing renewals and cancellations | Performing our contract with you |
| Service emails, such as account confirmation, password resets and membership notices | Performing our contract with you |
| Understanding which films, pages and campaigns work, and improving UNBOUND | Our legitimate interests |
| Keeping UNBOUND secure and preventing abuse, including account sharing | Our legitimate interests |
| Keeping tax and accounting records | Legal obligation |
We send marketing emails only where you have agreed to them or the law otherwise allows, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run UNBOUND:
- Shopify: our store, checkout, payment processing, subscription billing and receipts. If you pay with Shop Pay or another digital wallet, that service's own privacy policy also applies.
- Omnisend: the email platform connected to our store. It receives your name and email address as a store customer. You receive marketing from it only if you ask for it, for example by ticking the box at checkout.
- Supabase: database hosting and sign-in.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Bunny.net: video delivery.
- Resend: delivery of service emails.
- ImprovMX: forwarding of messages you send to our support address.
Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
Data storage and security
Account, membership and viewing data is stored in Supabase with row-level security, so that members can only access their own records. Access to administrative data is restricted to authorised staff.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and viewing history while your account is open, including after a membership ends, so that you can rejoin where you left off. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or ask us to restrict how we use it, or ask for a copy in a portable form, by contacting us.
Deleting your account removes your personal records, subject to legal retention requirements. Because UNBOUND and Celestial University share one account, deleting it closes your sign-in for both.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
UNBOUND uses only the cookies it needs to work: the sign-in and session cookies that keep you signed in. We do not set analytics, advertising or campaign-tracking cookies, and we do not use advertising pixels.
When you play a film or open checkout, our video provider (Bunny.net) and Shopify may use the storage their service needs to work, under their own policies.
If we introduce any non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires.
Children
UNBOUND is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we close accounts we believe belong to someone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
