The robed, winged figure is an invention of art, not Scripture. UNBOUND follows the word "angel" from the Hebrew messenger to the Roman goddess Victory, through Kabbalah, Maimonides and Aquinas, to arrive at what an angel actually is: a function of the Light, not a body with wings.
